According Warner Bros. “The Dark Knight” on Sunday became the second movie in Hollywood history to hit the $500 million at the domestic box office, raising its total to $502.4 million. You might be wondering which hold the top box office record. Well, it’s none other than the unsinkable Titanic.
Dark Knight is a good movie and expected to earn in the box-office but I believe that it would not have reached that overwhelming popularity if not for Heath Ledger’s presence in the said movie.
On the other hand, I have not heard that much about Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet before I have seen Titanic. More likely, it was the production of the movie, plus the fact that it’s a true story (and tragic in that case), that made it a movie that people wanted to watch over and over again. Yes, I am one of those who have seen it more than 5 times (or more).
