Fiery Plane Crash in Upstate NY kills 49 People

A 74-seat Q400 Bombardier aircraft, operated by Colgan Air,  crashed into a house  in Clarence Center, N.Y while coming in for a landing. The fiery explosion killed all 48 people on board and one person on the ground. Two others inside the house were able to escape with minor injuires. 

The commercial plane was said to be flying from Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey and preparing to land at Buffalo Niagara International Airport. 

This incident was the first fatal crash of a commercial airliner in the U.S. in 2 1/2 years.
